In my first panel I went to it was basically about how poetry can help a person write in all different kinds of ways. The first person presented a poem that was about her dad passing away. As she was reading it I heard her expressed her feelings. When she was done she was talking about how much easier it was to share her story in poem format because she couldn’t never just come out and plainly talks about her dad passing away, she also said how she felt as she became a better writer after she started writing poetry. I could relate to her on this topic for the simple fact that it would be hard to talk about such a thing but easier to let your thoughts go on paper. That’s why I think writing is important concept in life, especially when you want to let people know and understand what your feelings toward something. I really enjoyed hearing her speak.
Then there was a second speaker who kind of went the same route but she switched it up a little bit. She was more into about the narrative voice and telling fictional poems. I felt as though her poems was kind of dull because for the simple fact it seemed that she didn’t have to much character in her poems. At the same time I did get some type of output from her, when she was saying how to try to find the narrative voice. I never thought about that and it could be a lot difficult when you cannot understand how a person wants you to read there poetry. At the end of this panel I realize how important it is to try to give your reader a image and a good understanding on the topic your writing about.
